Kara is a happy, normal 10 year old girl with a new best friend named Lilly. Little does she know that on her 11th birthday, Lilly turns out to be someone entirely different and Kara discovers that she [Kara] has the curse of the Splotches. Going on against the Ribboners, Kara must found out what happened to her mother who was kidnapped by the Ribboners when she was young before time runs out and her mother is gone forever. She finds herself trapped in a series of places, where she must obtain four magical and ancient objects that will help the old Keeper, Zane, reclaim power over the chaotic Ribboners and find her long-lost mother. Can she manage to use her "curse" as a gift in order to accomplish this?
