Chloe is not normal. Most kids her age care about getting a boyfriend/girlfriend or being popular. But she already has both those things, so she's bored. She dreams to fly. To feel wind in her face and her clothes, to look down at the earth, and reach the heavens. But when her wish is granted, she flies as high as she can, past the limit of humans. Will she be able to get back down to earth, or will she stay in the heavens forever?

So I know this isn't exactly what the author had in mind, but I think it turned out okay with the texture and out-of-focus text.

Anna's father died in the past, but then her mother falls ill and has the same fate as her father. Soon Anna and her three siblings must go and live with a nasty woman that wants nothing to do with them. Anna and her brothers and sisters run away, hoping they will find a better home in the forest, but only a worse fate meets them there than back with their nasty guardian.

This is where I uncover the enormous, wonderful photo editing potential of... Microsoft Word 2010! GAH! I really had no idea about this, but I downloaded this beautiful font and put it in and then... I could do stuff with it! Like text effects! It was awesome!

The author text is not my best, though ... *smiles sheepishly*

I don't know if this was the genre feel you wanted me to go for, but as soon as you described the image you wanted I thought of this. And it's very nice, you know? I'd been dying to use it for ages. The font is, yes, somewhat overused, but imagine my surprise when I applied this random effect and the text went all pretty! :) Hope you like it!

It started off as a usual Wednesday morning walking to school with her friends. Luna Jade lugged her backpack into her locker and headed down the hall for class when the bell rang. A boy stepped in front her of blocking Luna and her friend's path. He had eleven or ten boys behind him that were obviously his gang of obnoxious dudes. Then he twisted his hands, and Luna blacked out. Little did she know that falling from a long distance above her, and landing in an underground chamber was not close to any of the danger or adventure that she and her friends would discover. . .
